Mushrooms, magic mushrooms or shrooms are a naturally occurring psychedelic, growing on every continent with approximately 190 separate species. All of which containing two extremely similar psychoactive chemicals in roughly equal amounts. These are Psilocybin and Psyilocin, both of which are classed as tryptamines. They have been used since before recorded human history, with their depiction being found on cave art and famously used by the native people of Mesoamerica for religious and shamanic purposes. It is extremely effecient in inducing transcendental states and religious exhalation of which I will now begin to describe.

Body high:
The body high of magic mushrooms is that of of a soft and often overwhelming tingling sensation that is capable of becoming physically euphoric at higher doses. It is incredibly relaxing results in a mostly lethargic state. Usually causing a trippers to want to sit down on a comfortable spot and enjoy the trip, instead of engaging in physical activities. If physical activities such as dancing are forcibly engaged in however, mushrooms can become almost as energetic as stimulating psychedelics such as LSD and the 2Cx family.

Head space:
The head space of Magic Mushrooms has a very obvious stoning effect to it that can be described as vaguely similar to weed. This reduces mental capacity and leaves for a more confusing trip than those found on stimulating psychedelics such as LSD. The added confusion makes the chance of easily avoidable paranoia if taken outside of a safe environment more likely than that of other psychedelics.
The overall theme of a persons thought patterns that are directed towards states of deep outrospectiveness, instead of personal problem solving, with trippers often finding themselves contemplating the society they live in, their place in the universe and profound philosophical thoughts.

Visual Effects:
Mushroom visuals are generally described by most as much soft, rounded and somehow natural looking geometry with slightly more earthy colours of browns, reds and greens. The visuals are not as fast moving as LSD and change by means of flowing and morphing into themselves to create new and constantly changing geometric forms. These visuals are high in structure, spontaneously morphing into structured forms and objects made of a condensed close eye visual based material. They are very high in imagery, which increases until they are so elaborate they have become fully fledged 3D hallucinatory scenarios.
As the visuals increase proportional to dosage ego death is eventually triggered. Something occasionally but not always giving way to level 6 psychedelic visuals and a feeling of experiencing the entire universe at once. More often than not however a feeling of becoming completely disconnected from the self and falling into what can only be described the source of all existence is present
Open eye distortions, transformations and melting are significantly more solid on mushrooms in comparison to other psychedelics. Looking slightly more believable and being a little more permanent, meaning they are more likely to stay put and not reset if you double take.

In conclusion:
Mushrooms are one of my favourite psychedelics, best used in silent darkness and in high doses to fully release their hallucinatory effects. They are slightly more capable of producing bad trips in people who are unexperienced with psychedelics as they can be a little more confusing. They areextremely rewarding in terms of their head space however. Allowing for extremely deep philosophical thoughts and realizations.
