I mean damn buddy it’s fun once maybe but I could never abuse it like that, I’ve had a bottle of cough syrup next to my bed because I’ve been mad sick but I stick to maryjane cause she pretty much takes care of all of that and a few other things
There’s just not much that compares to Sigma plateau. Nothing actually. No drug can match that crazy universe. I have been off MXE since December 2012, off DXM since October 2011. I definitely don’t go anywhere near dissociatives these days.
Naturals like weed and shrooms are what I’m trying to stick to.
You trip man, but damnn do you pukee :P it’s not fun being a bystander.
Shit, you don’t gotta tell me. I nonstop abused DXM for two years straight and was so addicted to dissociatives I then switched to MXE for a year.
Puking, kidney damage, psychosis… Not so good. I have to always remind myself about how truly shitty that time was.
You’re welcome! DXM and shrooms are two I haven’t mixed. First off I feel like that would cause far too much nausea/stomach discomfort. Secondly the comeups/onsets/peaks of both these drugs are intense. I have done MXE with shrooms and the dis/psychedelic definitely can be groovy. However, I feel like some of the mental aspects of the specific combo may give you anxiety: DXM is deep space and shrooms are the Earth. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be fun but I personally wouldn’t think to mix these two. Let me know how it goes if you do.
LOL DRUGS
this isn’t even what i usually sound like
fuck i was on one
thanks to otto for this. you creepy file-saver.
ntl, you’re fucking insane but so hilarious. i could never bring myself to delete it. LOL
Why stop doing DXM? Just don’t do a lot of it.
I have been badly addicted to DXM in the past, I’d not like to repeat that.
I have never done them together, but I’ve read much online and there’s mixed views about the similarity and mixing of these two.
Obviously they are both dissociative drugs, with hallucinogenic effects. Methoxetamine is believed to be an NMDA antagonist and a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, similar to Ketamine in the Arylcyclohexylamines class of drugs. DXM, however, is an opioid analgesic (an isomer of an analog of Codeine) and in very high doses acts as an NMDA receptor antagonist (like MXE) but also as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, sigma-1 receptor, and has affinity towards the µ-opioid receptor as well.
DXM is much stronger and frightening than MXE. Both can completley remove you from reality, take you to new worlds, and make your mind wander to the furthest depths of your psyche. However, DXM’s effects are definitely much more intense/confusing/intoxicating, whereas MXE is much more pleasant and floaty.
Here is more info on the aspects of a dissociative trip.
Taking MXE with DXM would only make the effects of the DXM feel stronger I think. For a single time trip, I’d make sure to dose it right, and absolutely do not do these two together unless you have experience separately with both. Personally, though, I would watch out for this combo because both DXM and MXE are hard on your kidneys, and I’m sure the combination of the two in a high dose or on a regular basis would kill your liver and depress/frazzle your CNS!
I assume the reason he retracted was lack of evidence, but it really doesn’t excuse the fact that the whole procedure is methodologically flawed. There’s is no question to me that dissociatives can cause brain damage if used excessively. Onley’s Lesions appear to NOT be the cause of DXM-related brain damage in primates. I believe it’s excitotoxicity causing the problem.
There is quite a bit of DXM health info here.
It should also be mentioned that the lesions are believed to be caused by all dissociatives (NMDAR’s) but in the trials DXM seems to be the favored drug. Why? What about all of those people who are chronic K-heads for years and step out of their addiction mentally unscathed?
Fact is that Onley’s lesions have only been observed in RATS (which have twice the metabolic rate of humans anyway) after dissociative drugs were injected DIRECTLY INTO THEIR BRAINS! They’ve never been seen in humans or monkeys that have been tested. Dissociatives can cause dysfunction from wearing down of receptors and transmitters, but I definitely don’t believe they cause irreversible brain lesions.
Erowid’s Onley’s Lesions page is really the definitive guide for most people on this subject. Notice, however, that it was written in 1998 whereas the studies discounting their existence in monkey and human subjects weren’t concluded until the mid 2000’s. Also, at the very top of the page it states that the author RETRACTED HIS STATEMENTS in 2004!
I’ve been reading about racetams, nootropics, and smart drugs for cognitive improvement. Piracetam sounds really great as it is purported to improve visual memory, writing skills, dyslexia, and focus in general. After heavily abusing DXM I definitely suffered in all of those fields. Problem is that there’s so little info on the internet about it… Send me the info!
I’ve had a lot of really fucking ridiculously insane and awesome DXM trips, usually something like this. I’d say they are both my favorite and least favorite simultaneously. Robo is evil and psychotic like that.
Addendum:
Every single time I’ve done acid it’s changed my life in some way. That’s something I like a lot.
